Sean Ashe (b.June 30, 1993) is a musician, solo artist, composer/songwriter, engineer, producer, and educator from the USA who has always found himself immersed in a world of creativity.
Sean’s innate drive to express through music began at an early age. Receiving a drum set for Christmas at age 3, Sean quickly found himself creating his own drum beats, fills, and experimenting with all of the tones of the drum set.
At 13, Sean found a curiosity for the fretboard and asked his father, Tom Ashe (a seasoned guitarist/songwriter), if he could borrow a guitar. Fueled by his own desire for creative expression, Sean dedicated his teen years to honing his chops on the instrument. In parallel, he also utilized emerging platforms like Youtube, learning about the elements of composition, music theory, audio production/engineering, mixing, and video/photo capturing and editing.
Sean used these platforms to upload his own videos, and shortly began attracting an audience. After several years of focusing on session work, and teaching, Sean shifted his his focus towards a solo career.
In September 2013, he released his first solo single ‘Luminescence’. Written, recorded, and mixed/mastered in a week, the track received positive reviews and left many fans asking for more.
As ideas started materializing for an album, Sean released another single, “Hemisphere” in June 2014. “Hemisphere” would be Sean’s first collaboration with Norwegian drummer Andreas Sjoen (Umpfel, Fleshkiller, Vade, Solo).
January 12th 2016 saw the release of Sean’s anticipated debut album, Flux. Flux was written, recorded, and mixed by Sean. The album featured featured drummer Andreas Sjoen, and guest soloist Denis Chang on the track “Creature”. Selling several thousand copies, and over a million streams, Flux garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Moving from his home in Indiana, to the West Coast, Sean began developing ideas for his sophomore album , and continuing to grow as a musician.
“Spark Under Water” Releases in Summer 2024. Featuring previously released singles, ‘Ocean’, ‘Tangerine Dream’, and ‘Conquerer’ and new songs such as “Yeehaw” (Ft. Spiro Dussias), Nova… and more!
In addition to his solo career, Sean is also an experienced session musician, in studio and live, and has played in styles ranging from Reggae, Country, Blues, Pop, Metal, Fusion, Rock, and Acoustic music. For nearly as long as Sean has been playing the guitar, he has also been helping/educating others.. Using applications such as Skype/Facetime/Zoom, Sean still makes time to teach and connect with musicians from all over the world.
